United Nations, Aug 20.- Cuba presented here today to the members of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the subversive plans of the U.S. government against the island which were recently revealed.The Cuban Permanent Mission to the United Nations distributed to the members of the regional block of 33 countries the reports that demonstrate the hostility of Washington and its most recent expression, a program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
It is a plan, revealed by the US press, consisting in the recruitment of Latin American youth since 2009 to encourage sectors of Cuban youth to act against the constitutional order endorsed by the Cuban people. CELAC members received a statement on the case made by General Director of the United States Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Josefina Vidal, who rejected the destabilizing actions.
In addition, the Permanent Mission of Cuba informed the Community founded in Caracas in December, 2011, the US authorities have acknowledged authorship and implementation of the subversive plan of USAID.
The Cuban representation reminded CELAC members that such position is a clear and open violation of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and of international law. (Prensa Latina)
